What is the Just Transition Fund?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The Just Transition Fund, or JTF for short, is a European fund that supports regions affected by the transition to a climate-neutral economy. The scheme is intended to stimulate economic innovation, CO\u2082 reduction, employment, and future-proof supply chains.<\/span><\/p>\n

In North Brabant, the focus is on the transition challenge in West North Brabant. Examples include projects that contribute to the renewal of the regional economy, investments in technology, systems, and infrastructure, or the development of an agile labour market. This makes the JTF attractive for project ideas that are not only technically or economically relevant but also demonstrably contribute to broad regional impact.<\/span><\/p>\n

For which initiatives is JTF interesting?<\/span><\/h2>\n

The scheme offers opportunities for projects that fit within one or more JTF tracks. Examples include initiatives aimed at process and product innovation, the circular economy, bio-based applications, making industrial supply chains more sustainable, electrification, CO\u2082 reduction, new infrastructure, or labour market development.<\/span><\/p>\n

Projects related to training, retraining, talent development, and collaboration between education and business may also be relevant, provided they align with the region’s transition challenge.<\/span><\/p>\n

To whom does this call apply?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The JTF call is relevant for organisations active within the region or supply chains covered by the scheme. This may involve SMEs, larger enterprises, knowledge institutions, educational institutions, non-profit organisations, government bodies, and consortia.<\/span><\/p>\n

For collaborative projects, it is important to determine promptly which parties are required to establish a strong project in terms of content, technology, and finances. Particularly in JTF projects, the interplay between innovation, economic renewal, and labour market impact often plays a significant role.<\/span><\/p>\n

Get ready now<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The extension until December 15th provides extra time, but that does not mean waiting is wise. Limited budget remains available, and the scheme operates on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/span><\/p>\n

This makes timing important. Those starting now have more room to clearly position their project, properly structure the consortium, and carefully build the budget. After all, applications must be substantively strong, which also means they must be concrete and sufficiently substantiated.<\/span><\/p>\n
