Innovation is important and needs to be planned, financed and managed. This is a complex process for many high tech start-ups and scale-ups, but certainly too for established companies, knowledge institutes and other (semi) public institutions and governments. The Future is the committed partner who supports parties to realize these innovations.
Below are some examples of successful initiatives and projects we worked on.
MPH2 Project Approved: Cross-Border Learning and Testing Environment for the Metal Power Hydrogen Chain
The Interreg Vlaanderen-Netherlands project MPH2 has been approved. Within the project, Flemish and Dutch partners will develop a cross-border learning and testing environment for the complete Metal Power hydrogen chain. The project explores how energy can be stored, transported and used through iron powder for industrial heat applications.
ReWhire Approved: RIFT and Evonik to Reuse Hydrogen By-Product for Iron Fuel Production
RIFT and Evonik Antwerp are launching ReWhire, an international R&D project focused on reusing hydrogen by-product for iron fuel production. The project supports the affordable decarbonisation of industrial heat and the circular use of hydrogen-rich industrial streams.
Energy Link: smart control in non-residential buildings as a direct response to grid congestion
Within the OPZuid Energy Link project, partners are developing and demonstrating a plug-and-play control solution for non-residential buildings. Using MPC/AI and a collective software layer, peaks are reduced and flexibility is unlocked to directly mitigate grid congestion.
OptiRenO: AI tool for smart, affordable renovation of apartment complexes
The Interreg Vlaanderen-Netherlands project MPH2 has been approved. Within the project, Flemish and Dutch partners will develop a cross-border learning and testing environment for the complete Metal Power hydrogen chain. The project explores how energy can be stored, transported and used through iron powder for industrial heat applications.
Cross-border circular renovation in the social housing sector: CARES sets the tone
The CARES project focuses on accelerating circular renovation in the social housing sector by bringing together Dutch housing associations and various partners to implement knowledge through guidance and learning on the job directly. The project aims to reduce CO₂ emissions and waste, create economic value, and structurally embed the circular economy in the construction sector.
EduXR Library: Cross-border innovation for future-proof education in healthcare and energy
The EduXR Library project develops a joint, cross-border library of high-quality Dutch-language XR applications for education and training in healthcare and energy, enabling educators and companies to share, further develop, and widely deploy them. The project breaks through current fragmentation, reduces costs, fosters collaboration, and ensures the structural integration of XR in education through training, knowledge sharing, and a sustainable platform.
Circulair Bouwend: building regional chains for material reuse
Within Circulair Bouwend, The Future acts as thematic lead for resources and material hubs. In this role, we connect municipalities, housing associations, demolition companies, hubs and chain partners to scale up the reuse of construction materials across the south of the Netherlands.
Preventive Mental Healthcare with Innovative AI and Sensor Technology
SenTech AI and Televitas are developing an innovative system for preventive mental healthcare in the workplace. By utilizing AI and sensor technology, the system monitors mental stress, fatigue, and concentration in real-time, enabling early detection of burnout and stress. This cross-border initiative in the Netherlands and Flanders aims to improve employee well-being, reduce absenteeism, and shift towards prevention-driven healthcare.
Innovative Electric Rough-Terrain Forklift
PSV, Philips and the Anna Zorggroep have defined a joint ambition to bring together and facilitate innovations in the field of (sports) performance and vitality under one roof: the PSV Top Performance Center (TPC). This is a great ambition, but how do you translate it into concrete plans? The Future was called upon in April 2021 to support the realization and financing of the PSV TPC.
Sustainable Energy Hubs with Iron Power: The Future of CO2-Free Energy
PSV, Philips and the Anna Zorggroep have defined a joint ambition to bring together and facilitate innovations in the field of (sports) performance and vitality under one roof: the PSV Top Performance Center (TPC). This is a great ambition, but how do you translate it into concrete plans? The Future was called upon in April 2021 to support the realization and financing of the PSV TPC.
AMV ELC – Labor Market-Driven Energy Learning Community
The Interreg project Labor Market Demand Driven Energy Learning Community (AMV ELC) is a contemporary approach in response to the shortage of skilled workers specialized in the energy transition.
Research into a total solution for the entire Metal Power chain
Metalot's goal is accelerating the energy transition by developing and preparing promising technologies such as Metal Power (Iron Power), hydrogen and large-scale innovative energy storage for the generation of green energy for the heat-intensive industry. The Future was involved since before its foundation as a structural partner for innovation management and financing and has developed and supported projects worth 10 million euros for Metalot in the past 4 years.
